I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding John Adams Virtual High School, from which I revived a diploma in 2008. At the time of enrollment, the school’s website and promotional materials explicitly stated that it was an accredited institution. Based on these representations, I paid hundreds of dollars in tuition and completed multiple competency test, believing I was earning a legitimate high school diploma. Unfortunately, I later discovered that the diploma was not recognized by the US. military, colleges, or employers. For example: When attempting to enlist in the marines during active conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, my diploma was rejected. I have applied and even enrolled in several colleges, (School of arts in Florida, Maestro.) and completed my FASFA application only to be informed that John Adams Virtual High school is on their “blacklist” and cannot be accepted.
This has caused significant financial loss, emotional distress, and long term harm to my educational and career opportunities. The school’s false claims of accreditation misled me and countless others, leaving us with invalid diplomas no no accountability from the institution.
I respectfully request that your office:
Investigate John Adams Virtual High school’s deceptive practices.
Provide transparency and answers for affected students.
Pursue remedies to hold the operators accountable and prevent further harm.
Consider avenues for restitution or recognition of the course coursework we completed in good faith.
I am prepared to provide documentation of my enrollment, FASFA application, diploma, and the correspondence with colleges to support this complaint.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope that by raising this issue, others will be spared the devastating consequences of fraudulent educational institutions.
