Ad/incomplete service

Ought my damaged boat in for repairs. After two weeks in the shop they gave me an estimate of at around 1500 to 1600 dollars. A week later I called to see what was going on and hesaidthat the price for repairs was going to be at about 2600 dollars. This leads me to believe that my boat could have possibly been damaged in the actual tear down process and they attempted to stick me with the charges. StillI was negotiable and asked if I could look for parts needed since he had told me he looked for parts but had trouble finding any that were not over priced, at which point he agreed. I had done my site diligence researching parts, and found some parts at a reasonable cost that could be used to put my boat back in reasonable running condition, he told me to follow up with the parts dealer, make sure it included certain parts in the assembly. I followed up with the dealer to see if those parts would work, I had yet to hear back from that parts dealer at which point I found another local parts dealer with comparable parts, I spoke to Greg the mechanic/owner at channel marine and told him of the local parts dealer at which point he told me no he won't use there parts and that he was going to box up the tore down parts to my boat and I could come get it and they would not so the work on my boat. I was amazed that this was his reaction when I was. Just trying to help him find parts to accomplish the job he was set out to do. I told him he tore down the boat so it was his responsibility to put it back together at which point he refused and told me he would not and my parts would be boxed up. I told himif that's the case I shouldn't be responsible for the fees of tearing down the motor and any damages he may have caused, he said no and that I owe him more than the original amount stated for the amount he had told me a day prior of hours he had already put into it which he stated was around 400 dollars, then they stated it was around 500 dollars. This has caused a hardship for myself and my family, now giving me more work with a tore down boat that isn't put together.
