I have a different area code than the facility where my husband is so with securus it is $6.95 EACH call! I though i would use Jail call services to get another number and it worked for a few hours then Securus blocked the number because it is just a number with a different area code routed to my phone. With most jail phone companies you have to have a number assigned to an actual phone, not routed like Jail Call Services does. WHICH BTW YOU CAN DO WHAT THEY DO FOR FREE THROGUH GOOGLE VOICE!!! They are just charging us an outrageous amount of money for a service that is actually free if you look it up. I called Jail Call Services 10 times and it never rang just went to a voicemail. I sent emails and never got a response. I figured i would cut my losses so i went and bought a TracFone from CVS For $9.99, bought a $19.99 minutes card for the phone and with TracFone you can choose ANY area code. I set it to the same area code as the jail my husband is in and now every phone call is $1.06 =] I wish i would have done this in the first place but people please don't use Jail Call Services. I don't see how it's legal for them to rip us off like this and whoever just sits and collects all the money from hard working people who just want to stay in touch with loved ones, they should be as shamed of themselves! If anyone wants to know a much easier way to do this please feel free to email me before you waste your money with jail call services, it has to be a scam. — (Personal Information Removed)
