On July I paid to have Parks Furniture Antiques to deliver a secretary table to my home. I paid over $900.00 for the table, and also $20.00 for delivery. When Mr. Parks arrived he was sweating terribly and he indicated that the table was heavier than he thought it would be plus that his helper called in sick from an injured arm so he had to deliver it solo. After his departure I started dusting the item and a small piece fell off surrounding the front glass plus I notice damage behind it. I immediately called them that day. Today on July 18 I received a call back from Mr. Parks. I told him what occurred and he told me that I bought the item as is, but I told him the item didn't have that damage when I saw it in the store. He told me it was my fault because I dusted it. Then I said dusting should not cause damage because the damage was there already, and believe it occurred at delivery. He then said there was nothing he could do for me but did give me numbers to call to get it repaired if I wanted it repaired but it would be my responsibility. I don't believe I should be responsible for repairs of this item. This damage was not there when I purchased the item in the store.
