I have been an F.P.L. Customer for the past 25 to 30 years. I have a small business in Sunrise Fl. I recently got divorced and moved out of my house so I could fix it up and rent it because I can’t afford to live there by myself. I lived there 3 years. Before that I lived in Coral Springs for around 6 years. My business has fallen on hard times.in the past year my credit has gone way down. Being a customer for over 30 years and never got my lights shut off and never tried to scam F.P.L. Anyway, after I moved out of the L.H.P. House and my tenants who I had to evict costing me $6k and by the way they scammed you out of a lot of money (these are the kind of people you treat your ruthless ways). To have the lights turned on at Coral Springs so I could work on the house I had to put up a DEPOSIT of almost $900.00. While I been working at the Coral Springs house and also fixing up the L.H.P. House. I’ve been sleeping there on the weekends. I called F.P.L. Sometime in March and told them I have not received a bill. They told me that the Power was not in anybody’s name and not to worry they would straighten it out. On one Friday at the end of May I came to the L.H.P. To work and sleep for the weekend. When I arrived there, was a note from F.P.L. Telling me to call or the power would cut off. I immediately called and when I got someone on the phone I was told that he (F.P.L.) would do me a favor and split a thousand dollar deposit into two months. I tried to explain that I did not have that kind of money at the present time I told him I was a loyal customer for over 30 years and never had my light shut off, sure I told him I've paid late but I also paid a penalty for the late payments. I told him I had two houses and I was going nowhere. Plain and simple he did-not want to hear nor did he give a s*#t that I was broke, he told me to pay $680.00 or I would be sleeping in the dark. So I had no choice and borrowed the money and paid the amount he told me to pay. Now on July 12 Friday before I leave the office I decide to log on to F.P.L. So I can pay my bill, well to my surprise my bill was over $1000.00 so I called and pleaded with two of your reps begging to work out a payment plan on the DEPOSIT because I was low on funds. I was told that my POWER had ALREADY been shut off on the 10th which now means all my food is spoiled and now my $2500 refrigerator will stink and I’ll probably have to throw it away. I really find it hard to believe that a big company like F.P.L. Could not cut me a break. The way I was treated was like I was a person that constantly steals and scams F.P.L. Out of electric. We both know that there is nowhere to go for power. I would think that you would review a customer’s history with F.P.L. And then if the customer has strong ties to the county and has been a loyal customer. The reps should be trained to allow a payment plan. But your customer service rep's (trained or not) they are just like HITLER. They don't want to hear anything nor do they care the slightest bit weather you have to be in the dark or not. I can honestly say that in the 20 years I've been in business I've NEVER seen such heartless customer service rep's. I've lived here all my life I own two homes I have a business but your people could careless how long or who you are. I have NEVER beat you (F.P.L.) out of a single watt of power in over 30 years as a custome
