I was having trouble with my gmail.com account and clicked on a # of choices to get assistance. What I thought was a google person turned out to be Live Technican who "went into my computer" and said I had questionable spyware, cookies, etc. I was "duped" into buying their Live Anti Spyware, Live Anti Hijack and Clearomizer which they installed by entering my computer and it took a good part of one day. The cost was $289.99 which they said would prevent hackers from getting into my computer. I already had a good security system but they "duped me again" by showing me all these suposed suspicious items on my pc. They said I would have live access to their technicians for 3 years.
About a week ago at 7:40pm PDT I got a call from the technican in India who had "sold me on the above package". He took me thru another tour by going into my pc and attempting to sell me yet another security program called Defender and said my Microsoft License had expired. I didn't buy it this time and he got more aggressive saying do you want it and I said give me your ID # and phone #. He had already given me his ID # as IJ97582 but when I asked for his phone # he hung up.
On 7/6 at about 10:30am PDT I got a call from "Live Technician". These were two "invited calls" and this time I said I didn't want to talk to any of them.
What I am concerned about is that they may be able to enter my computer since the 3 program package I cited above is on my pc. I called my credit card company to see if I could get a refund on the $289.99 package I was duped into buying. They said since I had authorized payment there wasn't much they could do.
After two unsolicted calls, I am lodging this complaint as this company is a scam selling people so called security programs they don't need.
Please let me know if I have any recourse.
