I too was scamed, I went to work for HNH international (SENTRA CREATIONS) in january and unfortuantly I "worked" for them intil April. I saw an ad in our arizona republic looking for manager trainees. And since I had no managment skills and I thought it would be good for my job history I applied. I called the number and the women who ansewered was very hard to understand. (sorry can't remember her name) She signed me up for an interview for the next day. So I went to the interview, Immediately when I arrived I heard very load club like music comeing from the other room. The office I was interviewed in had a glass window and I noticed the people in the other room having fun and playing pool.
Well the interview went well and I was asked to come back the next day for a 2nd interview. I came back and was taken into a room with other people for the second interview. Harris made everything sound wonderful and I became excited that I would own and run my own buisness. I was selected to come back for orientation on the following thurseday and to dress nicely and bring pen/paper to take notes.
I arrived a little earily and told to go into the back room and "mingle" with the others. The orientation started and Harris (my boss) begain telling us about the different positions. We talked about selling to family and friends, bounus, satelites and our own new offices. He talked about all the wonderful things him and his wife were able to do and all the fun places they had been too. They showed us a promotional video with employees playing games and winning cash prizes.
Then we were basicaly told to go home and try to sell the perfume to people we knew. (mind you without any bottles) we were told it was a "trust" issue. And if we came back they would trust us with the real thing. I again arrived early and was very surprised to see Harris and his wife pull up in a very used vehicle (this set things off in my head) We came inside and only 3 people sold 3 bottles each. We then had about an hour and a half training class, were we were taught to sell the perfume and how to rebuttle customers no's. (It basically is a script u learn) We were also instructed to ignore no solicting signs.
After we were told today would be the day we went out in the field. Each new employee was matched up with one other person who had already had 3 weeks of training. We'll we went out and sold nothing. Myself and some of the other girls talked among ourselves and things became to our attention as very strange.
1) Harris and his wife say they make such wonderful money but the drive a used car?
2) The office was undecorated and bare
3) We had never filled out w2's or w4's only "get to know u" forms
4) We were told we would be paid friday (that day) and we were not given pay checks.
5) The perfume was in UNMARKED bottles and boxes
When we got back to the office we were told we were not trying hard enough and to go home and try by ourselves. Well this went on for about a week when we arrived that tuesday we were all asked to come in the main "office" and we got on the speaker phone with "mr z". The conversation consisted of us each telling him how many bottles we sold then him cursing and belittling us for not selling more. The conversation then esculated into him yelling and cursing at us all together. (there were 15 of us total, after that there was only 9)
The next day we arrive to be surprised by a girl who was about to open her own office, from utah. Well to be nice she was dressed like a whore. Not buisness like at all! She stood infront of us for about an hour and told us mr z (doug) had sent her up here to "striaghten our" this office and make things run smooth. I was selected to go out with her in my group that day. She changed prior to going out to a short top, low cut and (belly showing) and jeans with all kinds of rips. (one showing the crotch of her underear) she asked me and the other girls in my group where the industrail areas of phx were, well they are downtown not a good area for women to be walking no matter what time of day. We went and because of her acting like a @#$% and firting with all the men she managed to sell 5 bottles but none at regular price. And had to give them all her phone #. (the rest of us sold nothing)
Then she managed to spend what she made when we went to dinner. Well by the end of the week she left and myself and another guy who had been there a long time became the people who train others. The only problem with this is I had only sold 3 myself. I drove around 3 or 4 group of people and they each sold about 10 total.in which I was suppos to get some kind of kick back but never did. I spent more then $75 in gas and never got any gas money from anyone.
Well also at this time I was 8 months pregnant and I was becoming unable to walk and be on my feet all day. So Harris offered me a job working in the office "recuiting" other workers. I was given a script and told just to read it and bring people in. Evenrually I had to go into the hospital and I never went back to work for them.
Please beware! They will say and do anyting to get you to work for nothing! I worked my #$% off and made nothing!!!
