I was searching for a clients telephone number. This web site came up and stated that they had my customers phone number available for a one dollar charge. I agreed to this and listed my bank atm card number for the one dollar charge. Well I should have known better. Today 6-14-13 I was notified by my bank that my account was overdrawn and a 34.00 charge was being put against my checking account.
At first I did not know who these people were. When I googled their company I found complaints from other people who had experienced similar problems and in fact their checking accounts had been charged every month for 6 months.
When I called check mate at first I was told too bad but that they would cease charging my account and eventually agreed to credit my account the $29.63 in 5 or so days. But that the overdraft was not their concern.
I really doubt that I will ever get the credit promised and feel that some entity with authority over scams like this should take action.
My claim is for the $29.63 charge and the $34.00 overdraft charge caused by their company.
