We stopped at a Charleston, SC Visitor Center and they induced us to attend a storefront in Charleston with the promise of free tourist attraction tickets. Once we arrived at the Charlestown storefront, we were told we must attend a 30-45 minute presentation (stretched to 2.0 hours) to procure our free tourist attraction tickets. We then sat through A Wholesale Escapes vacation club presentation which promised huge savings on vacation travel, airlines, rent a car, cruises, etc. The pervasive theme of the presentation was you would never find lower comparable travel prices from internet sites like Priceline, Expedia, RCI, etc. If you did find lower prices, you were instructed to contact Wholesale Escapes customer service to receive a price adjustment for "like for like" travel. The reality is we have been able to achieve better rates for our travel plans by utilizing AAA and AARP membership discounts.
