I became addicted to prescription medications and went through my insurance company (Cigna) to find a drug rehabilitation program. Cigna placed my life in the hands of Best Drug Rehabilitation in Manistee Michigan. The intake counselors for this establishment fabricated lies with the intent of receiving as many clients as possible. I was told this was a 30 day program to later find out that they had the intent to keep me against my will from 04/10 - 06/02. The conditions of the building were deplorable. There was no hot water on the woman's floor of the building and the water that we did have was yellow in color. This establishment is Scientology based which is information that they do not disclose to their clients. The food was cross contaminated and resulted in one of the clients having an allergic reaction to fish (while he was eating a salad that did not contain fish). He was rushed to the emergency room and was told that he would be responsible for the ambulance ride as well as any medications he needed, even though this establishment knew of his food allergy and his medical emergency was triggered by Best Drug Rehabilitation's negligence. There were also clients at the facility that were HIV/AIDS positive as well has clients who have been infected by Hepatitis C. None of the staff disclosed this information to their clients, nor did they take any safety measures to contain these diseases. Best Drug Rehabilitation is affiliated with Tranquility Detox which is located in Battle Creek Michigan. Tranquility Detox did not properly detox many of their clients before sending them to Best Drug Rehabilitation. As a result their were many individuals severely sick at the rehabilitation center itself whom were left with no medical treatment. After leaving the program I have been unable to return to work as Best Drug Rehabilitation refuses to fill out a release for duty document that is necessary per FMLA. They will not return my phone calls nor will they return the phone calls of F&H Solutions (which is a 3rd party that deals with my employers FMLA-Leave). They said I left AMA (against medical advise), however; they do not have medical staff. I have the names and phone numbers of other individuals who participated in the program and who have no problem testifying against Best Drug Rehabilitation. During my entire stay at Best Drug Rehabilitation there was never any talk about drugs or alcohol. This place is just another Narconon. Clients were told to talk to ashtrays, scream obscurities at other clients, stare at people for hours at a time as well as other crazy "training routines" as they call them.
