Mega Millions Sweepstakes, Las Vegas, NV
Consumer Report

I received a phone call 04/02 from 876-576-5975. The caller identified himself as Alex White. He said he was affiliated with "Mega Global Winners" and he called to award me with $2,500, 000.00 and a brand new mercedes benz. He told me my address and first and last name. I fell for it because I had previously entered the Publishing Clearing House Sweepstakes. I thought he may have gotten my information from them. He told me I needed to purchase a Green Dot card and put $500.00 dollars on it in order to give it to the IRS to cover taxes associated with my prizes. I was leary at first, discussed it with my husband and he spoke with my husband and convinced us both to read the number off of the purchased card to him so he could give the information to the IRS. He called back after receiving the information, explaining he'd call back after talking to the IRS. He stated it would take 2 to 2 & 1/2 hours for the crew to arrive at our address with the prizes. He just called again during my letter to you I answered sweared at him and hung up the phone. I have made a police report and reported the scam to the Green Dot Card Dispute representatives for investigation.
