I was in the market for a cleaning service to come in and clean my house. I contacted several companies and then settled on Cleanify. I initially ordered the basic clean which was 2 people for 3 hours. This was at $25/hr for a total of 6 hours ($150). The sales agent (Justin) gave me the speil about maybe going over in time and blah blah blah. So He eventually talked me into the "Deep Clean" option. This option would cover everything inside and out including baseboards, inside of appliances, walls etc. For a flat rate. He would send two people during th etime I allotted. The available time was a Friday (March 22) between 1-7pm (6 hours). I was not going to be able to be there at that time, but access to the house was not an issue. I ended up being there to see what was up and it turns out they sent one person and they showed up at 2. I left and then got back home at 5pm and they were gone. One person for 3 hours! It was a basic clean. The window sills were not cleaned, baseboards not cleaned, inside cupboards not cleaned and the list goes on. This is no fault of the cleaning person. She was not aware of any of these "Deep Clean" requirements. She actually did a fine job for less than two hours work. The problem is with this fraudulent company. I found out that they paid her $19/hr for 3 hours and then pocketed $200 on this job. Here is another issue... They have a waiver that you sign when the job is done. My wife came home before me and she was not aware I was getting the hosue cleaned. It was a suprise. Then she was pressured to sign this release not knowing that I paid for much more than was provided. So now the company refuses to offer a refund or send people back to do a proper "Deep Clean". Just outright refusal. They initially offered to send the person back and after talking to the cleaner I found out they were going to pay her an extra 2 hours to come back. So they would still come out $160 on top for this job. Was she gonna come back and do all the hard jobs in those two hours? I don't think so.
I would strongly advise anybody considering this company to run in the other direction. This is a scam company that charges for services and then doesn't ocmmunicate the extent of the job to the subcontractor. Then pays the subcontractor a small fraction of the job cost and pockets the rest. I'm honestly blown away by this whole experience. I have never been defrauded like this before. On top of this the company charges every subcontractor a large annual fee to use the service. This goes out to all the subs as well. I suggest taking that fee and starting your own website as an independent. Charge the standard $25-40/hr and double your annual take home.
It's unfortunate that a company like this is allowed to stay in business. I will be putting in a complaint with the BBB and also posting about my experience on any forum and review site that will let me. I am going to make it my personal mission to inform the public so that this doesn't happen to someone else. Obviously it is not about the money. This is a matte rof principal.
