I called the number on the (TV) screen to order a book from an infomercial. The order taker was nice, pleasant, and professional and efficiently took my order. Then she asked me if I would be interested a money saving offer by MWI*Connections* who would send me a $50.00 Walmart gift card just for looking at the program. I would have 30 days to look it over and I could cancel any time within that 30 day period and my credit card would not be charged.

I received a membership package and was instructed that in order for me to receive my gift card I would have to complete and return a "survey" that I could get only by sending in the attached "information card" (name, address, phone #).

By the time I received the survey, 30 days had gone by and I was billed $12.95. Along with that there was another charge by MWI*HOMEWORKSPLUS* for $19.95. I thought at that time that it was something my wife may have purchased, so I let it go.

I eventually (Dec 3) called CONNECTIONS (800-750-4364) to cancel. The agent (Sara ID# 16863) said I would see the credit in 2-3 business days.

A day later I checked my bankcard statement and there was another charge for MWI*HOMEWORSPLUS* posted Dec 2. This time I knew something was up. There was no phone number on the statement so I did a search and found BADBUSNESSBUREAU.com with other stories about MWI*HOMEWORKSPLUS* similar to mine.

I called the number that was supplied by another "victim" and was offered an apology for the mistake, my membership #, a membership package, and $60.00 worth of rebate certificates. I said "No Thanks! I want my money back." After another failed attempt by the agent, Fortune-ID# 25320, to keep me in the program, he agreed to cancel the membership and that I would see a credit on my bankcard in 2-3 business days.

Since these cancelations occured before and during a weekend, Dec 3 & 4 respectively, I won't know if a credit or how much of a credit will appear until the end of next week.
