Needed bedroom carpet. Real estate investing professional suggested "Stainmaster" warranted carpet, as we have pets. Researched several retailers of Stainmaster carpet. Stainmaster coverage was prominently displayed at all retailers, with NO MENTION OF ANY PET EXCLUSIONS. Purchased Stainmaster "warranted" carpet and installation at Home Depot store #6616 in Hollywood, Ca.in December. Carpet has been maintained properly, but has stubborn pet stains that won't clean. After lengthy and frustrating "conference" calls to the carpet manufacturer, (Beaulieu of America), Home Depot's HEROIC Frank and I were directed to call Stainmaster directly.in a conference call with Mallory at Stainmaster, Frank (a Home Depot carpet department PROFESSIONAL) and I were informed that Stainmaster warranty excludes pet stains. Frank, the Home Depot "PRO" said even HE wasn't aware of any such exclusion. We concluded our phone call with Stainmaster rep Mallory somewhat incredulously. Frank helpfully suggested that I return to the Home Depot store to see if "something could be worked out". I decided to try to resolve this situation with Scambook. While trying to get the address for Stainmaster for Scambook, I decided to click on "warranties" on the bottom of STAINMASTER'S OWN HOME PAGE. THEIR OWN WARRANTY PAGE states that "durable, easy to clean Stainmaster carpet comes with a LIFETIME warranty. Because we know life happens - spills, soiling, and MESSY PETS - our new Stainmaster lifetime warrany has you covered." ALL Stainmaster carpets feature LIFETIME warranty protection against: All food and beverage stains-no exclusions, PET URINE STAINS, soiling, and static shock." Either company rep Mallory didn't know what she was talking about, or, as the politicians put it, she was being DISINGENUOUS (DELIBERATELY DECEPTIVE). Maybe that's Stainmaster's modus operendi?
