I was on a trial period with ADT monitored by Protect your home security an ADT authorized dealer (Dealer # 5022472) within 24 hours I began to have problems with the system not working so I contacted ADT and protect your home customer service to find out that they were very rude and very very unprofessional with no people skills. Because of this bad experience with them I canceled my contract within 24 hours as directed by ADT and protect your home security. This was canceled on 1-29. On 2-15 on a Friday night I return home from dinner at 730PM with my family to find my front door broken open by the local police dept and the police standing in my house. They stated that they were notified by ADT that there was a medical alert button pushed on the ADT system (That was no longer in my house) at my address so they followed up to find no one home and smashed my front door to find out at there surprise that I didn't even have ADT security system in my house. I had canceled the service within the 24 hour period weeks before. Some where someone pushes a medical alert button on a system that was still listed to my address. So my front door was smashed for no reason and I really pray to god that the real person needing the service was OK. To my surprise I find out that ADT and protect your home security never removed me from the system that I was never on to begin with as it was canceled within the 24 hour trial period weeks before. I call them up to find out that I am put on hold with no success of getting anybody for hours waiting on the phone. This was repeated for hours. This is a life safety issue and I am taking this very very serious. Oh and by the way my two dogs in the house were traumatized by the event of my door being smashed open. I had to spend the night repairing my front door temporarily until I have a new one installed priced at 400 dollars plus labor which I have not done yet because I cannot get anyone through the weekend. I want a complaint posted and action taken against ADT and protect your home security for putting people at risk with life safety instead of being there to protect them. I also now sit and worry how many more times this will happen. My refund of this system was not refunded either and every time I call they put me on hold to no success of speaking to anyone. Please take action against these companies and let everyone know to beware. I also will follow up to have charges brought to these companies because it is a life safety issue and this needs to be brought to there corporate offices because people are at risk.
