The United Egg Producers for many years has had there humane certified animal care check program in place and every producer could fail 1 audit and still remain in the program as long as they passed the second audit. Last month one of the Board members farms from Midwest Poultry (Mr. BOB KROUSE) farm failed 2 times and the board voted after all these years of the program to allow 2 failed audits as long as they pass the second time. I personally feel that the consumers are being duped as the program obviously is being changed to suit UEP members on the board specifically. How can Agriculture get its message of good animal care programs out to the public when groups like UEP change there’s to suit a board member?
