Consumer Report

Michael Booker, Account Executive with Company (GST Card Services) contacted me by phone on 1/16 indicating he was representing a company working with Visa and Mastercard members and told me they could save me at least $4,000 by lowering my credit card interest rates. They claimed this was related to recent government action and available to me based on my current amount of debt and me being in good standing with my creditors. They said they could save me at least $4,000 in my total credit card debt and reduce my monthly payments, allowing me to pay off my credit card debt 3-5 times faster than I would otherwise. They said they would do this by contacting my creditors and lowering my interest rates to 0-6%APR instead of my rates. I asked how they could do this as I had attempted this as well and did not have success. They indicated that they knew how to negotiate with them on my behalf and what the new laws regarding interest rates stated. They took some basic info. About my current credit card debt and then called one of my credit card companies to verify my balance and available credit. They then said they would need to place a charge of $1200 on one of my credit cards but that if they were not successful in reducing my interest I would be guaranteed a full refund. I asked what would happen if they reduced my debt less than $4,000 and they said they would issue a complete refund. I agreed and they had a 3rd party verifier come on the line to go over details. She gave me the company phone number (877) 206-0308, and indicated if a representative was not available I could leave a message. She took my credit card info, address, and phone#, and stated again that if I did not receive $4,000 in savings I could receive a full refund. I then set up my first consultation with a financial counselor. On 1/22 I was called by Tyler Jacobs, financial counselor, on caller idea # was Florida (407) 565-9999. Tyler took more info including my birthdate, mother’s maiden name, address, and credit card numbers. He then contacted Discover Card regarding 2 accts, I gave them my info and he had me give permission for him to speak on my behalf. He then discussed my interest rates with them and tried to get them lowered. They refused and he got connected with the supervisor who also could not lower them. He then disconnected with them and told me he would need the first 5 of my SSN (got the last 4 when I gave my info to Discover) to open a new acct. At a low APR for me to transfer them too. I refused and asked for my refund since he couldn't lower my interest rates and I was never informed they may need to open a new account for me. I stated I did not want to open another account of any type, and that if he couldn’t lower my current interest rates as I had agreed to, I wanted my refund. He argued with me and finally said he would connect me with the retention dept. He put the phone down and said "SH*T, she won't give me her number!" then mocked me and hung up. I then called back and got music, no one answered. I reported to my credit cards at that point and have been trying to get my refund ever since. I call daily, each day told something different. Finally spoke with "retention dept." today after multiple attempts. Was told by Joyce Sanchez that they wouldn't "bow down to me", I asked for their website as I couldn't find one and she said they didn't have one. I asked for address and she told me I should have looked into that before becoming involved with them. I requested my refund again and she said I was wasting her time and hung up on me. I now have charge for $1296 charged to company appearing as Great Soul on my credit card statement. I don't know what else to do regarding this but it isn't right and I feel victimized and violated.
