I brought in my car to this mechanic shop on 11/30, for a transmission service base in a lie. I spoke to a guy name Phill who gave a quote of 895.00 over phone to do the entire job (rebuild the transmission). This would cover free towing, and one year warranty. He also told me this would take no more then a week. When the car got picked up I gave them 100.00 deposit to start the job. I waited about a week and 1/2, no phone call from them, nothing. So I personally when to the shop to find out nothing was done to the car. The car was park outside collecting tickets. The guy feed me more lie telling me that this job would cost me 2207.00 to be rebuild. The guy was trying to make more money from me. Since I wouldn't pay that type of money, this guy name Mack suggested to buy a used transmission for the amount of 870.00. To leave the deposit with them, they would place the order so I did and they gave me a receive for it. Ever since that day I been traveling back and forward trying to get my car out of there. They keep feeding me lies after lies, telling me they are waiting for a transmission, they keep getting the wrong one, the one they got was no good etc. Almost two month pass with the same excuse. I headed to the shop to find out that my front bumper was gone, someone had stolen it from my car while parked outside of the shop. I spoke to mack who said the shop would replace it and paint it. He also suggested that I should look for my own transmission and call shop when I find one. The shop would pay for it with the 970.00 I left as a deposit. The very next day I found a transmission for the amount of 990.00 so, I call the shop and spoke with Joan, who delivered the message to Mack. He never call me bak to confirm this. However, I call back and poke to him. He say he would call the guys to place the order. He would use the information I provided him. Days pass and nothing has happen. I try to contact the shop and the guy (Mack) is never there or he keeps hidden. I need help dealing with this situation. Can someone please assist me with some guidance or tell me what else to do. I feel that I try everything in my power and nothing seem to work.
