I bought a 2000 Dodge Ram from a used car dealer in Houston, TX. They had the transmission rebuilt at Juan Transmission, Houston, TX. While driving home to MN I got 150-250 miles away and the transmission started acting up. It shifted from 2nd at 3800 rpm to no place. Engine just raced to 5k and then slowed down. I fount out that 80% of the time you had to down shift it would go to 2nd gear and then to no place. I contacted the transmission shop. They told me i had a 6000 mile warranty; however, I had to bring it to them for repair. Hmmm. They said the warranty will NOT cover you if you cannot bring it to them. What a rip off. So now I have another transmission shop rebuilding it again. The used car dealer offered me $300.00 toward the rebuild I am getting. I am 100% sure they will get there money back from the transmission shop since they paid the first one.
What a rip off warranty.
