I live in Old Town Oakland (8th and Clay) and Waste Management picks up our condo's garbage once a week, on Friday mornings. Besides coming by way too early (I've been woken up at before 5:00 am!), the Waste Management trucks come down our street multiple times a week! It doesn't make sense! There is another residential building across the street (literally) and Waste Management collected their dumpsters at 5:36 am this morning (8/2)! It's bad enough that they come for our building on Friday mornings before the sun is even up and make extreme and aggravating amounts of noise, often slamming the waste containers on the ground, but to come multiple times a week is insane! It not only irritates residents, it also does not make logistic sense. If you're on the street anyway, why not pick up both locations' garbage? In addition to this, there is another location where they pick up on Monday mornings which is on 7th and Clay.in purely residential neighborhoods, garbage collectors don't pick up one house's trash one day and another house's trash on another. Again, it just doesn't make sense. If you have to come that early (you don't, 8th street has very little traffic even at 8:30 am), please only come once a week and not multiple times. You're needlessly waking people up!
