I ordered a GE refrigerator online from Home Depot. I wanted specific features only available on one model. It took 11 days for delivery, which was okay; we waited. It was delivered Friday, August 13. It stopped cooling overnight Saturday, and all our food spoiled. I made about 5 calls to Home Depot on Sunday afternoon to no avail. One rep said it would be replaced because it was less than 48 hours and put us on hold, and we were disconnected. I called back but got another rep, and they could not transfer us to the first one. The second rep could not even find the order number.
Finally, on Monday (today), I reached a rep who set up a service call. I cancelled business appointments for the day and worked from home. The repairman came, found that the compressor was bad, and said it would take 6 days to get a new one shipped in. I called GE about getting it overnighted, and they said to call Home Depot to get it replaced. I finally called VISA to dispute the charge, and they contacted Home Depot about replacing it. Along the way, Home Depot offered a "loaner" but would not take this one back to the store (we have nowhere to put two refrigerators).
