America On Line - Chevy Chase Bank
America OnLine & Chevy Chase Bank rip-off!

This report is to inform consumers of bad business with America On Line internet service and Chevy Chase Bank. I started with AOL's 1000 hrs or 45 days of free service. When that came to an end AOL never contacted me on what kind of plan I would like to be placed on. Not only was I paying for the $23.90 per month, but they would outrageously charge me a service fee for $200 and even $300 a month and even was underhanded in charging me twice a month of those fees. When I reported this to AOL a representative tried to claim to me that I had two accounts which was not true and made up a bogus account of taking my first, middle, and last name intials with my area zupcode to create this phony account.

When I tried to cancel my account they refused to accept my refusal and kept persisting giving me benefits and more days and hours free, which would not equal to the amount of money they stole from my checking account. Which brings me to the next case of trying to have at the time Chevy Chase Bank. I had been banking with Chevy Chase for over 3 years at the time and they did nothing to really help. If anything they made matter worse. They informed me that they would do an investigation of the matter of AOL taking so money from my account. The investigation conveniently being short lived with a representive of Chevy Chase gave me a letter in the mail told me that this was by my name and agreement.

When I specifically informed them they could take out the normal monthly fee of $23.90 per month. I informed Chevy Chase that AOL has done other underhanded things with consumers and the Chevy Chase Representives were not paying attention to me. The AOL scam brought me to a level of having to pay the bank of over $1800 dollars. I told Chevy Chase Bank that I was in the process with the Maryland State Attorney General's office, and if they could just give me time to get my refund of money.

Chevy Chase wasted no time at all getting a credit agency against me for the money that was fleeced out of my account by AOL. It took over 8 months to win my 1800 dollars back from AOL and I had to pay Chevy Chase Bank the money before I had the chance to settle my differences with AOL even when I paid off the balance with the bank, representives sent me letters that I still had a debt to pay which was not true and were not quick to take my name off of the credit agencie's lists. When the bank was paid I made sure that all accounts with Chevy Chase Bank were canceled and closed out so AOL can not access the account.

The Maryland Attorney General's Office informed me that the funds were placed back into an account. Chevy Chase was not informing me of the returned money hoping they could keep this money and I would not be aware because the accounts were closed out only a week after the discovery of Anerica On Line charges. It is my believe that this was double plot by American On Line and Chevy Chase Bank to rip me off of funds. I strongly advise people not to do business with either of these companies. There are other reports from other sources informing of corrupted business with Chevy Chase Bank and American On Line
