AOL has been charging me for an authorized, unused broadband account since March. I have repeatedly contacted them to have this account canceled and my credit card reimbursed. On every occasion I was assured it was taken care of and I received several confirmation and operator numbers.
I finally disputed the charges with my credit card company only to find out that they would only investigate charges under 90 days.
After wasting a considerable amount of time on hold I managed to speak with a representative that would only agree to a partial reimbursement and 6 months free service. I canceled my existing account immediatly. I contacted my credit card company and closed the account so they couldn't continue to charge me.
