New healthy savings had been charging my credit card for two different ammounts at once on a regular basis. I called to see what they were charging for and was told that they didnt know. I asked they stop making all charges and was told that any subscriptions or memberships I had would be canceled. This was sept. 7.
The credit card being charged was in my maiden name and I had closed it after contacting any companies that would continue to charge, however the account does not close until the balance is at 0 for 30 days. I kept being charged and contacted NHS again.
I was told they were having technicle difficulties and that they would stop all charges immediatly and refund the last month's charges. One charge, in the ammount of $4something did stop. The charge that used to be $14.95 now became $19.95 and continued. I tried to file fraud w / my credit card company but was told I could'nt b/c I had no information about the company charging my account.
I explained who they are and what I did and that I canceled my subscription in early sept. But they said I could do nothing w/out knowing what the charge was for, when I authorized it (assuming I did), or if I held some contract with the company. They wouldnt suspend or close the account and basically told me I was S.O.L.
I contacted NHS again 11/24/04 and was given the same run around, told the payments would stop. This time they told me I had cancelled my membership to unlimited music downloads but kept one to a cigerette website. They claimed to have absolutly no information on this website or even the web address. I was told to e-mail the supervisor at [email protected] I am currently waiting for a response. If there is ANYONE who knows ANYTHING I can do please let me know.
Thank you
