I attempted to switch from Comcast to Century link in order to get cheaper service and better customer service. After three days of working with their equipment I gave up and canceled service from Century link so there was no cost savings. Since it was within the month grace period I was told that all I had to do was send back their equipment and all I would have to pay was the $99 for installation, which was subpar at best. Two days after canceling service I get a call at work from their collections department for nonpayment of my bill. I waited till I got home to start chewing on a supervisor about this. He assured me this was an error and he would check into it. My equipment has yet to arrive in their warehouse. One week after the call at work I get a letter from a collections agency over this bill. At this point it has not even been a month since I attempted to switch service. I called Century link to check if my equipment had arrived. Since it has I agree to pay over the phone in order to disengage with Century link. Once all the fees have been applied my final bill now is $122.95. I hope never to deal with these incompetents again. Customer service overall was even worse than Comcast, I did not think that was possible.
