Satellite Internet troubles

I am so glad I can write about a company that has terrible internet service and maybe even worse customer service.
Ever since we had Wildblue satellite internet installed we were not very happy. From the slow connection and download speed to their excuses. We went over our "allowed" downloads once, so the internet came to a screeching halt. They said originally if we experienced that, we were able to get it reset one time only. What they didn't tell us was that we had to give them the reasons why we went over. WHAT??!! How do I know what everyone downloads, plus I was using it for business, so I was always downloading files for jobs. To make a long story short, they made me upgrade to the next level of there service-of course for more money. Then we had our house re-roofed, and the dish is on the roof. When the roofers were done, they re-installed the dish almost exactly where it was. It still needed to be re-aligned, so called them up. We are leasing the equipment so I thought it should be covered. Nope. $95 for them to come out and calibrate it. I had to think about that. It was either pay the $95, or disconnect for $135. Tough decision. That is until I found out we were able to get connected with a wired line in the house. Ahhh. No more outages from cloudy weather (which happened very frequent with Wildblue). So I called and cancelled. It doesn't end there though. Since our equipment is leased to us, I have to send back the modem, and part of the dish. WHAT???!! Now I have to get on the roof to remove the dish and take a part off of it? Even though I am capable of doing this, I shouldn't have to. What if I was an elderly person, or if I was handicapped? This makes no sense. I wouldn't expect someone to take off anything I had installed. Needless to say, I would like everyone to know exactly what kind of company they are dealing with when they call Wildblue, and hopefully they will not make that mistake too. I have never cancelled a contract with anyone until now, and maybe I never will in the future, but this was worth the extra money spent.
