I opened an MSN On-Line Services account in early 2003 and had the monthly service fee billed to my AMEX account.in November I called and cancelled the account. As instructed by the customer service representative, I followed up with a written confirmation of the cancellation by FAX.
Since then, MSN has continued to bill the monthly service charge to my AMEX account. I have instructed MSN that they are no longer authorized to bill this AMEX account, and informed AMEX of same, but to no avail.
MSN continues to fraudulently bill my AMEX account and AMEX passes these charges on to me. Neither Company will take any action to resolve the issue and both have ignored my instructions re: unauthorized billings.
In frustration, I cancelled the AMEX account but MSN continues to bill the cancelled account and AMEX continues to pass through the charges.
I believe the MSN and AMEX are in collusion to defraud customers for services that they do not want, have cancelled, and have not received.
Today I filed a complaint with the FTC charging both companies with fraudulent activity. Its easy to do via their website and I urge others in the same position to also file complaints with the FTC.
