This man called from a company and asked if he could send us a fax describing how they do webpages. I have no problem recieving faxes so i agreed. He then proceeded to tell me that to make sure it is ok to send me the fax, i would have to hold on while he went thru a system, and at the end he asked me to answer "yes". I heard a recording start to play then I heard the keypad on the phone being pushed. I didnt get to hear what the recording was saying but at the end it asked if i was 18 years of age so i answered "ok"; instantly the man gets on the phone and says in an angry tone, that i "have" to answer yes, not "ok". I asked him again what this was doing and he said it is simply so he could send me a fax.
Again we went thru the same thing where i heard keys being pushed on the keypad of his phone, so i hung up.instantly i get another call and it is this same man and he is agitated and he goes thru it again. So to stop him from calling i went along with it, thinking as he stated that i would just be recieving a fax. Then he gives me a phone number and it is over. I called the phone number back and found out he signed me up for webpage services and it is going to appear on my phone bill!!! I called back and got a supervisor who was able to play back the recording for me, and the recording made it sound like i heard the original recording, but i hadnt. Crooks!
