In June I noticed my phone would be in use when no one in the house was on line or on the phone. I called my local company to alert them someone had access to my phone as I would pick it up and there would be a recording.
The recording stated if you would like to make a call hang up or push "0" for an operator. I pressed "0" received a ZPDI operator who said she could not help me and to simply hand up the phone.
I tried to hang up and was unable. Low and behold I recieved my phone bill yesterday and found $36.78 in charges "billed on behalf of other carrier"! There are 4 calls to the United Kingdom made on June 17th and 18th.
I called the local company to find I have to battle this out with ZPDI, a company I had never heard of. I called the toll free number on my bill only to find a recording and held on for over 20 minutes. The recording states if you choose not to hold you can view your bill at www.billview.com, I tried that and nothing there either. I emailed ZPDI and am waiting to hear back.
There has to be something we can do about these companies simply tapping into our lines thru our computers!
