I purchased my gateway fx computer for school in by the end of 2011 the hard drive burned up.
My warranty was only for the first year - so I replaced the harddrive myself - but the system restore software I purchased from their site - (since it does't come with the computer) would never install properly - when I called for help they redirected me to a site to pay for the call - I paid but never got my pin to verify my payment - then had to call again to try to get the info over the phone. They wasted all of my available time that day to use my 20 minutes that I paid for. I spent all my time trying to retrieve the pin number that allows me talk to tech support - so I never got to talk to a tech support person ever - Then when I called back to use it they said it expired! And they wouldn't refund my money or reissue a new pin - I never got to talk to a tech support person and the problem is with their system - their software!
What a rip off! I will never buy another Gateway product - I will stick with Dxxx - I have always used them in the past and have never regretted it. I have dell computers that still run great after 9 years!
Sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
