I moved in with a roomate and I signed up for SBC Yahoo DSL service. I agreed to a $29.95 monthly service fee, which has been incorrect on my bill every month. The sales person also failed to notify me that my phone bill would have a ridiculous amount of taxes. I asked the agent if I could transfer the service to my roomate's name at a later date, and she said it would be no problem. I am now moving and want the service switched over. SBC now says I have to cancel my service, pay a $200 early termination fee, and my roomate would have to a. Wait for the cancellation of up to a week occur and b. Take as long as 10 days to re-sign up for service.
So SBC says I have to pay $200 and my roomate has to wait up to 17 days before she can have dsl again. Is this a joke?
What is so f'ing hard about transferring the service???
