Blayne Aina and Aina Media begged for the job three times before I hired them. He swore to be a "GURU" of anything I needed, and played on the fact that I was a Veteran and he served in the Marines so he would work hard for me. At the first meeting, he swore to all the things he could do and that it would take him a week. Two weeks later he said he couldn't do it with the particular software I had and that he could do it with custom software, a nd still be done in a week. 5 months later, his "CUSTOM" software was all opensource freeware crap that he couldn't get to work together on my site.
He called before Christmas crying about how he had no money to keep his phone and utilities on or finish shopping for his kids because he hasn't finished the site and couldn't get the final payment. He promised me Veteran to Veteran that if I could give him some money to keep his utilities on that he would work through Christmas to finish my site. I told him to enjoy Christmas, but that I trusted him and believed in family first. About a week after Christmas and hardly any additional movement on my site, he stopped logging on and stopped fixing all of his mistakes. I had to fire him and hire a new developer to finish the site, and they told me it looks like this guy never had a clue about what he was doing in the back end.
His server keeps getting shut down for being over capacity with resources, so I moved to my own dedicated server without him knowing and he still gave me excuses that he couldn't work because his server was acting up. When I told him that my site wasn't even on his server anymore, he started coming up with more excuses why he couldn't get things done. I finally fired him after finding much better developers.
