I had a terrible experience with DataRetrieval.com and would highly advise against using their services. The issues with my retrieval were numerous and varied.
I was overcharged by over $300, the deposit amount I put down which was supposed to have been deducted from the final cost; a mistake realized by me, not the company.
The entire process took several months to complete. When I followed up on the status 3 weeks after the drive was said to have been shipped, i was told that i hadn't filled out a form which i never received to begin with. Also, the drive was said to have been repaired locally; only later was I told it was sent to Canada, at which point the company attempted to charge to transport the drive. Lastly, the $1,600 data retrieval which was paid in full, revealed itself to be nothing more than a partial retrieval.
At least 1/4 of the files on my drive are empty or unreadable; data which was listed as having been restored in it's entirety. I have exhausted every effort possible to contact the company over 30 times with no reply whatsoever.
With the money spent and the valuable data left unrecovered, I am left only with the opportunity to prevent others from experiencing the same. Do not use dataretrieval.com.
