Black Friday online sales ripoff

I started monitoring the Best Buy web site at 11:00 PM EST on Tuesday, Nov 22nd hoping to get some of the online door busters. I was prepared to spend a $1000 on their online sale.

I knew they would not have the site updated by midnight, but i expected it to be updated and ready for sales within a reasonable amount of time. I sit in front of my computer screen for 7 hours hitting the refresh button.

During that time I made three calls to customer service. All they could tell me was the sale was suppose to start at midnight, they did not know what was going on, and that all I could do was keep hitting refresh, it was first come first served. I needed to be at the computer when the sale went live.

At 10 minutes till 6 AM I could not take it anymore and walked away for about 30 minutes. When I returned, everything was "sold out". They apparently went live at 6:10 AM EST.

The least they could have done was to post a target time for making sales active. This would prevent people from sitting for hours waiting for nothing.

At around 1:30 AM, they did push an update to the web site. Many of the items had prices listed as "coming soon" but they updated the site to reflect the sale price. If they could update the web site to reflect the sale price, why didn't they just make the site active for sales at that time?
