Used Car Purchase Complaint

I am filing a formal complaint against Integrity of Chicago Auto Sales located at 1131 North Ashland Avenue, Chicago, IL (773) 435-0009. I purchased a used 2007 Cadillac Escalade in June. I was looking for a safe and reliable SUV for my wife and 17 month old daughter. I found this vehicle on Integrity’s internet page and since I am located in Michigan, I asked to provide me with all of the relevant the specifics regarding the vehicle.

To make a very long and challenging story short, there were multiple issues with the vehicle that were not disclosed by George that in turn have created safety concerns and additional out of pocket costs to me. It took them two months to get me the title for the vehicle so there was a 2 week span that I couldn’t even drive it since my temporary registration had expired. When I took delivery of the truck, it had a large dent in the driver’s side rear panel, no floor mats, only one set of keys, and had a foul smoke odor inside. None of there items were disclosed and I did specifically ask for all pertinent details about the vehicle. It was delivered with an error message on the driver’s information center of the dash and I needed to replace a tire pressure sensor. The wheel was also making a squeaking noise. Upon having a mechanic look at it, we discovered that the brakes were completely worn down, metal to metal, and the rotors, calipers, and brake pads need to be replaced the way all around. We had owned the vehicle for less than 500 miles upon this discovery. Needless to say, the issue with the brakes was the last straw as it was a major safety concern given that fact that I purchased this vehicle for my wife and baby girl.

I have contacted Integrity regularly to follow up on these items both during the initial purchase and delivery of the vehicle as well as when the other issues arose after the purchase. They do not follow up, have been non-responsive, and they stated that they would cover the $554.56 invoice for the brakes (they have a copy of the invoice), but they have not. It has been over 2 months since they asked me for a copy of the invoice so that they could reimburse me for the cost as they obviously did not inspect the vehicle as they had stated. As of the writing of this complaint, I still have not heard back from anyone at their organization. I understand that I can’t be compensated for the wasted time and horrific service experience I have endured with Integrity Auto; however, I do expect to be reimbursed by them for the following:

Brakes: $554.56 Invoice attached, Wheel sensor: $50, Dent Removal: $793.65 estimate attached
Interior detailing to remove smell: $100, Second Key and key fob: $150 estimate to replace from Cadillac oem replacement parts website, Floormats: $185 estimate from Cadillac oem replacement parts Website, Total $1833.21.

Again, none of the items listed above were disclosed and to pay over $35,000 for a vehicle, only to have all of these immediate issues is inexcusable. Since I have never had to deal with a situation like this, I am reaching out for your assistance to get this matter resolved as quickly and efficiently as possible as my attempt to resolve it with Integrity Auto have been ignored. I am not looking to clog up the system with another customer complaint, however I truly attempted to resolve this situation direct with Integrity Auto but they show no interest in taking responsibility and I have run out of patience.
