I bought a car from Van Devere Auto three months ago. Van Devere Auto assured me that the vehicle had been "safety checked." Apparantly, safety checked to them must mean not road worthy. I bought the car "as is" but with Van Devere supposed "reputation" and "safety checked" - I thought I was safe from the need to take it to my own mechanic. After all, this is no mom and pop shop, they have three lots and hundred of cars.
Just three months after purchasing the vehicle - the front brakes were into the rotor's. When I called Van Devere and explained the situation calmly, after all you get more bees with honey than vinegar, I was summarily rejected ANY form of deal.
I asked for them to replace the brakes - No
I asked for the parts so I could do it myself - No
I then preceeded to tell them that I would file a complaint. After all this vehicle was housing my children, and they sold me a vehicle that was not road ready or clearly ever "safty checked."
Apparantly, Van Devere only cares about money and not the safety of their customers.
I will not trust Van Devere ever again and I can only hope that filling this report, in this type of economy, will insure that others do not get caught in the same trap.
