My bank had to issue me a new CC number due to a merchant being compromised. I had a monthly subscription for webhosting from Newdomainsites.com and the charge did not process. They sent me several emails to an old email account but did not attempt to call me. A website is a pretty major deal to a business and before shutting it down and deleting the files a company should at least make a phone call. I tried to see if they could bring my website back online but they said it would cost $150 to revive it from the back ups. Which after talking to my web design company takes just a few clicks. This is for a $4/mo hosting plan... They shut my site down and want to charge $150 because of $4.
Customer service was rude and they are apparently too large to care about individual customers. I told the customer service rep I wasn't happy about this and they should focus on customer service and give a courtesy call. He said they know its an issue but don't do anything extra and they aren't even required to do anything. I said I would make a complaint, he said "as long as you don't have 10 million friends like we have subscribers we'll be OK." That just shows their attitude.
