In December, my boyfriend purchased me turntables from e-electronics - aka Topfetch, an Ebay member. They arrived late but at least they arrived.in January, I bid and won headphones from the same Ebay account. I sent him a personal check because he would not accept PayPal.
My check was cashed soon after I sent it, but the headphones never arrived. I emailed Topfetch and the alternate email address - [email protected] - several times but he never replied.
I am 9 months pregnant and we purchased these items so I could occupy myself in the time I was home. However, I needed the headphones to play the turntables because I live in an apartment. The gift has sat, collecting dust as I waited for the item to arrive. Without the headphones (which were pricey) the gift is completely useless.
Livid, I filed a fraud report with EBay and the IFCC. Upon receiving the fraud notice via email, electronicity suddenly emailed me (over a month since I sent payment for the item). He simply wrote, "I will send the headphones if you remove the fraud report"- no explanation nor apology.
I agreed. Over the next 2 weeks, he sporadically emailed me saying that he would send the headphones by the latest this date-he will send a tracking number by that date - etc. Essentially toying with me. Finally he sent a tracking number this week and I was ecstatic (although it took 3 months of waiting with bated breath for his intermittant responses).
I got a call today from the receptionist at my work saying that the package had arrived via UPS but that the sender (anonymous of course) was requesting Cash on Delivery to release this package. This is the most outrageous situation i have ever encountered as a consumer!!! He will not get away with this and i will take this is far as need go!!! If anyone has any more information, i would appreciate it. Reading about his other unscrupulous behavior as a merchant is revolting. I will not let him get away with this.
