I placed an ad on Craigslist.com for a wen designer to design an auction website like Ebay. I got lots of responses from desperate people looking for work. I chose this designer in New Jersey who claimed that he had 8 years experience and when I told him my budget of $800 he claimed that it would cost another $350 to do the job "right" and that other designers will promise me a Mercedes and give me a "lemon" but that he could do what I wanted with graphics, a checkout and continued support. He promised that he would have to buy a license and a server and that he would suply all of the reciepts.
I deposited the $500 deposit into his bank account and waited as he promised that the site would go up on a server that only I could see while it was being built and woulkd be done in 5 days so after 5 days I contacted him and asked about being able to see it. He put the site up later that day and demanded the rest of the money which was $650 but I was hesitant because what incentive did he now have to finish the site? He TOOK THE SITE DOWN ON ME!!!
I had now invested $500 and this jerk took down the site so I deposited the rest. He put the site back up but it was not finished, we went back and fourth with this stupid site. He insisted that he was going to host it for me with no time limit? I asked hime for control of my files, he supplied a file to me that was empty, I complained and so he gave me a file that had all of the files but I coould not change them.
I found in thopse files copyright details that showed my website was copyrighted by another website, it was actually a premade software that he purchased for $65 and they will host it for $4. It also included a checkout which he had turned off and tried to scam another $250 out of me to get it when it was included in our contract and also included in the CHEAP software he purchased from USA Net Creations.
He again took the site down, threatened me with slander, never completed the site. He promised to give my money back, day after day he promised tomorrow or Monday! He robbed me and the site was never finished. You can view his crappy work at www.ebuyz.Co unless he took it down AGAIN!!! There are NO GRAPHICS whatsoever and noi check out, the seller fees were never changed to the specifications that I requested and he kept my $1150 and what is even more outrageous is that he actually thinks that he did NOTHING WRONG!!!
DO NOT TRUST JAY AND JESSICA STERNBERG!!! Believe me, this has been my worst nitemare!!! He is a thief!!! THESE ARE THE WEB SITES THAT HE CLAIMS ARE HIS WORK AND HIS PHONE NUMBER IS 323-793-9474. DO NOT TRUST THIS GUY.
