This gentleman made overtures for me to be associated with him, he said he was working in KL Malaysia and wanted to meet me before returning to the States.
He said he had a large Company who was building a huge building in KL, after this project he was going to retire on his return to the States. He said he would pay my fare to KL, as she had "plenty of money". I agreed to go to KL, and he said that he had to get the proper paperwork organized. He then came back and requested me to send my passport!!! Bells began to ring. He then requested $364 to be deposited in a South African Bank for the 'required' paperwork.
I know as an Australian citizen with a current Australian passport I do not even need a visa to enter KL. Now the small amount of money requested does not seem to be too large but if he is getting away with this multiple times then he really is pulling in the money.
It just so happens that I did not fall for this, but I am posting this so others may be forewarned.
