We bought three Latitudes for our charity and all three died within a few minutes of taking them down. We had previously has great success with Dell P3 models, but these Latitudes 500 and 600s were a disaster. The support person said they were some 2.5 years old, so we should not be surprised the three died. I wanted to know if this model was more fragile, but was again told we should have bought a longer life warranty, as problems were not unusual at this age. I HAD ASSUMED THAT 2.5 YEARS WAS NOT AN UNREASONABLE LIFE EXPECTATION FOR A COMPUTER - WRONGLY.
As the P3s are still working, I can only assume the newer Latitudes are more fragile. Having three out of three go bad at the same time seems A huge coincidence.
