I was checking my account online to see how much money I had in the bank on online banking. I was appalled when I saw I had no money in the bank because aol travelers advantage had taken out $89.99 and also the regular aol took some out also because they made a mistake also. ($71.70)
It is a very upsetting coincidence that the 2 mistakes that aol made were in the span of a couple days. I did not even know what Aol travelers advantage was at the time. Because they took the money out of my account without my permission (also its ILLEGAL), The bank took out $30.00 as an overdraft fee, then they took out another $30.00 for the second aol mistake.
It really angered me how they could take the money out illegally and then have me lose $60. I lost $241.19! I had $167.00 in the bank and I wasn't expecting anyone to make any mistakes. I had enough for what I needed. I want my $60 back. Aol travelers advantage apologized and gave me my $89.99 back but told me to (fax or mail) you all so that I can get my $30.00. The regular aol gave my money back too, they also apologized. I have to mail them a letter like this too!
Why couldn't I just call? I have to go out my way to do this because you all decided to take my money. I even received a 3rd overdraft charge (another $30.00) because I was using my card to buy stuff knowing I had money. The bank gave me my one time only courtesy, $30.00. It would have been $90.00 that I lost. This is ridiculous.
I called Aol travelers advantage and they said that in order for them to charge us $89.99, we had to cash a check. WHAT CHECK!? I never cashed anything. I have never even received anything from aol travelers advantage in the mail. I never signed up for it! I am very upset and so are my parents.
Everytime I tried to cancel with them, they wouldn't let me and I'm not a mean person. So, I got 2 "free months". Thats what they told me last time, and I was charged because they "forgot" to post it. How could this company still be running? I even lost sleep over this stupid situation. I was on the phone with aol and aol travelors advantage for 4 hours. I had to talk to like 11 different people until I got MY money BACK. I still want the rest and I am gonna get it.
If I don't get my money, I might have to take matters in my own hands.
