Small businesses should think twice before agreeing to Cbeyond service. It appears to be commonplace for sales representatives to mislead new clients and make promises that are half-truths. Capabilities and features may be feasibly possible but each one has a "catch"; be it a severe limitation or an additional expense. Any issue requires a significant amount of your personal time to have it resolved and a typical management response is nonchalant, indifferent and detached. It seems they all feel that once they have you in their contract terms, you have no recourse and must simply accept whatever negative experience you encounter regarding service and/or support. When terminating my contract, I followed Cbeyond's rules and procedures. I was told that I had not met their termination criteria and was required to spend even more personal time proving that I had indeed followed procedure. The only way to avoid the countless hours of personal time required to resolve Cbeyond disputes was to pay the bogus costs. You are caught in a lose-lose situation. WARNING - it will cost more of your personal time and money than you will ever save by choosing a Cbeyond competitor - even if the competitors rates are higher. Please read all contract documents thoroughly especially the fine print. I understand that Cbeyond wants to keep shareholders happy; I just choose to do business with companies that accomplish that goal with more straightforward and honest business practices. Save yourself the extra expense and choose a different provider.
