Company charged card and showed as TWX - MAGAZINE. The Magazine Company said Synapse Group or New Short Business initiated the charge. Contacted them at 877-536-6414 which was number provided by magazine company since the charge did not provide any contact phone for the merchant.
Synapse Group said the charge was initiated by another 3rd party over a year ago, with an initial $2 charge with a annual recurring charge $40, but the $2 charge which was extremely small and not caught on the credit card charges was also charged by Synapse Group and not a 3rd party.
They wanted verification of name and address, but then when you provide that they say, Yep that is what we have but of course they have the same information as I just gave it to them.
No other 3rd party has initiated the charge and Synapse Group wouldn't provide any 3rd party verification. They just say the original request came from another 3rd party.
They first do a simple small charge of $2 so you won't notice it and then when they hit for a larger amount they say well this is a recurring charge and there wasn't a problem last year. There were NEVER any magazines sent or mailed and they only verify the address AFTER you have to give it to them and keep saying That is the same address we are showing.
Credit card company is charging the amount back and reporting for fraud.
