I have had Vonage for about 3 years. At first I had all kinds of problems with dropped calls and poor call quality. I spent lots of time with their customer service, which has been pretty mediocre, but finally one rep pointed me to a website (mycooltools.com) that measures your internet connection quality to determine if VOIP can be successful. You pick a server close to you, and then start the test. It will not only measure your connection speed, it will measure how consistent the data stream is. Without a consistent data stream you obviously can't have a successful VOIP call. It turned out that my ISP was the problem. I switched ISPs and haven't had a problem since. I use my phone for business and some days I am on the phone for hours and I have no problems.
