Boardroom, Inc. Direct-Mail HELL with Bottom Line

1) Bottom Line Books from Marty Edelston aka Boardroom, Inc. Is an absolute ripoff and overall INFURIATING company to deal with. They offer (overpriced) newsletters (Bottom Line/Personal, Bottom Line/Health, etc.) and so-called "Yearbooks" and other books of tips with fantastic headlines meant to scare you or make you feel like you are missing out on the biggest FREE MONEY deal ever. The advertising is overhyped for the "reports" and numerous publications they sell you. Of course, many times, they hook people by ordering a "free report" and then send along a book which you can "examine" for X number of days before you are billed. Of course, the book along with the "free report" is in fine print and lost in their jumbled and screaming headline advertising (think P.T. Barnum in the publishing business.

2) If you DO fall for one of their scam publications that you didn't actually "order" and don't pay right away, you get threatening letters and they are quick to turn these $30 book "orders" to collection agencies. I've often wondered how much money they make selling "bad debts" to collectors versus selling actual valid merchandise to customers.

3) Direct-Mail Hell. You will receive postal spam (junk mail) like never before. Bottom Line (in all its incarnations) will try to sell you something once a week. If they have your email address, they pour it on via email as well. But, their stock-in-trade is Direct Marketing (junk mail) and they also SELL YOUR INFORMATION to others. So, onced you've done ANYTHING with Bottom Line: LOOK OUT. Here it comes. You'll be getting catalogs and offers left and right. Most of the companies you hear from are places like "Heartland America" and other companies that have a long record of poor customer service and you'll find their hate letters all over the Internet. This particular circle of direct marketers are the bottom feeders of the industry. But, they CAN market - not always honestly - but, hey, what's a little slippery business to Mr. Edelston?

So... Here's the BOTTOM LINE (pardon the pun) - STAY AWAY!!!
