My name is zack pittman and I have been in the IT field for 4 years and after acheiving my A certification through Sybex I thought I would try something different. I went to smart certify and paid $3,800 for their MSCE package and network cert course.
They said we will pay for your test if you don't pass it. Well personally I didn't think much of it at the time, but after going through their course with over 70 different errata that i found and reported to them with their network course, I decided to take a pretest from a different company. I failed the test miserably, with a 65%. This was after 3 months of grueling studying in which 1/3 of my time was spent reporting errata cases. Then after I finished their course they have the nerve to send my an email saying "great news the errata case whatever has been fixed".
One particular errata i remembered and i reported it 2 months before hand. Had several times where I argued with the tech support about the information be given being incorrect, and all those time a week later they would email me and say we are sorry you were correct. This is total bullshit! I tried to get my money back but they wouldn't because i didn't take and fail two tests. I told them but after everything I had run into and taking other peoples practice exams with the grades I had on those, do you really expect me to embarrass myself by actually taking the test and failing it twice? Still they wouldn't give any money back no discounts no extra training (which i wouldn't have excepted anyway, obviously).
So a week before my test date I had to restudy the whole network course with Sybex training books. This company is rediculious and undeserving of the title IT training. I am only 20 years old and have no clue what I could have done to fix this, but I figured maybe somebody would read this and NEVER BUY FROM SMARTCERTIFY.
