On November 15, I won an auction on eBay for 6 Disneyland tickets that were to expire in less than 2 weeks. Adrienne Maerz was the seller. I paid immediately after the auction and requested that she send me a tracking number as soon as the tickets were sent.
On November 16, I received this reply from her:
"I have looked all day for the tickets. We drove back from California today, and I thought they were lost in the car, but I did not find them. THEN I did my laundry, and I found them, but they had already gone through the wash. I have been in touch with Disney, and they are non-refundable. I will refund your money, and I am SO SORRY!"
I was a little worried, but I knew Disney often replaces damaged tickets, so I e-mailed her:
"Disney will replaced damaged tickets, please mail me the tickets."
Her reply to my e-mail was:
"I called them, they said if they are illegible, they WILL NOT REPLACE THEM. I HATE people like you who think they know it all!!!"
I asked her politely to send the tickets again in my next e-mail:
"Please mail me the tickets so I can at least try to get them replaced."
In Adrienne's next e-mail, she claims she no longer has them:
"I already tried to get them replaced. I threw them out after I was told no. I will refund your money, and you can leave bad feedback, if you want. I am a single mother of six and bad ebay feedback is not going to crush my world."
I am upset, but I try to work it out with her and send her this:
"I am sorry that you threw away the tickets, Disney has made exceptions and I may have been able to get a replacement. I'll need replacement tickets by Friday, November 20th. Please let me know the tracking number when you ship. Thank you."
She then refuses to replace them "I don't have them now. I am not buying you new ones. If you contact me again, I will report harassment!!!"
I then cease to communicate with Adrienne because I lost any hope that we would resolve this matter. A couple days later, she sends me this message:
"I dug the tickets out of the trash, and as I informed you, they wentthrough the laundry, they are illegible and Disney informed me that they
could not be replaced. I will send them as long as youunderstand that i
will not refund your money if you can't get disney to replace them. ALSO,
you must agree not to give me bad feedback if you can't get them replaced,
as I WARNED you and offered a refund. Please let me know ASAP, so I can
mail them today."
I told her to go ahead and send the tickets. When I got home and opened the envelope, she had put 6 empty envelopes inside and no tickets. I then contacted her and asked her where the tickets were and this is her reply:
"I can't believe you would pull something like this!!! I knew from thebeginning that you were going to be trouble!!! I tried to refund your
money, but you were difficult and you insisted on the tickets. I told you
they couldn't be replaced, so I threw them away. You STILL insisted!!! So
I dug through 10 bags of trash until I found them, and I sent them, just
like you insisted!!! I should have known this would end bad!!! YOU
KNOW YOU GOT THE TICKETS, STOP TRYING TO RIP ME OFF AFTER ALL OF THE
TROUBLE I WENT TO!!!"
I have filed a chargeback with my credit card company and left her a negative feedback, but I am hoping others will see this and not get scammed.
