Freecreditreports247.org - Free Credit Reports 24/7 Credit Report SCAM Craigslist SCAM Credit Report Rebill SCAM FRAUD Craigslist Apartment Scam

Fake Craigslist Posting Leads To Fraudulent Charges

So, here is our story. My wife and I decided to look for a new apartment, so I went online to Craigslist.org to try and find something suitable. I stumbled across a great sounding apartment and intended to schedule an appointment to view said apartment the next day. The ad's instructions said that I needed to fill out their application and to include a copy of my credit report.

I was billed 1.95 for the free trial even though the site says its free - and then the very next day my wife checked our statements and we had been billed again already! They smacked me with a member fee of 34.95 in which i never agreed to anything. I tried calling and nobody answered their phone line.

Well I did some digging and it turns out that this company is owned by some scam artists called www.hugeclix.com who encourage their "affiliates" to scam people on craigslist.

(ror redacted)

They advertise on this web site that they allow:

"Craigslist Traffic Allowed"
Job Offers!
House/Apartment Rentals!
Auto Sales/Rentals!
Got a Creative CL Niche? If It Makes Money It Makes Sense!

So they are also preying upon people looking for jobs, houses, automobiles - anything you can buy on craigslist that someone might tell you you need a free credit report for:

This company will let you sign up and bill you fraudulently within the 7 day trial. Calling them is a waste of time... I spent an hour and a half listening to hold music. Me and my wife had to call up our bank and change cancel our credit cards just so this company would stop billing us... They ended up getting us for $1.95 then $34.95 then $34.95 again twice more all the first week and all while we were still supposed to get a free trial.

So if you stumble upon a craigslist apartment ad that just sounds too good to be true - and they ask you for a credit report from freecreditreports247.org it is a scam!
