I purchased SKyWay USA internet service for my elderly parents and paid for a year of service upfront. SkyWay was to FedX the self installation kit as I was home on leave from Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and I was going to install the system for them.
SkyWay erroneously entered my credit card information incorrectly and attempted to run the charge eight times. The transaction was blocked by my bank and I was contacted.
This was resolved, however, the equipment due to SkyWays mistake of erroneously entering credit card information was delivered the day I was leaving my parents residence.
I contacted SkyWay and informed them that due to their mistake I am unable to instal the system and since I have paid for a full year of service they should pay for a professional instal, SlyWay agreed, however, my credit card was fraudulently charged for an installation fee.
Upon the installation techs arrival to my parents residence he charged them for "a non basic installation" as my parents wanted a wall plate installed. The tech was unable to get the system to work and placed holes in more than one location on their roof attempting to get LOS (Line of Sight) to the satellite.
The tech was unreachable and SkyWay was not very responsive eventually they sent another tech out and he also was unable to get the system to work.
My Parents unsure what to do as they are elderly contacted me in Afghanistan to help them. I attempted to email SkyWay via their website on three separate occasions with no response. Eventually only after telling my parents to no longer speak with them and direct them to me received a response.
SkyWay said they wanted to help, and I asked what their intent was to resolve this issue. SkyWay asked for a quote from a roofer for the unnecessary holes they placed in my parents roof and said they needed this information for the installation companies insurance, I again asked what their intent was to resolve this as I wanted a full refund, I received no response.
After e-mailing and informing them I would seek legal representation and contact every media agency I could, they responded and stated they would do a complete refund. I responded and asked for a signed faxed letter indicating they would refund installation, FedX, service, and roof repair costs I would gladly work with them.
I received no response back and have emailed them two additional times. SkyWay has not provided any service, they have made an unauthorized charge for installation to my credit card, failed to respond, used sub contracted installation techs that took advantage of my elderly parents by charging them extra money, caused roof damage, and have done everything possible to not make this right.
This has been an on going series of events since on or about August 18th. I am deployed currently in Afghanistan and I believe SkyWay has no intent on resolving this issue. This has caused undue stress on my part as I am concerned for my elderly parents that have been ripped off by SkyWay USA.
SkyWay USA is a scam, and as many reports as I see listed on this site I would hope that someone would take actions against them preferably legal and via the media so all consumers are aware of SkyWays lack of good business ethics and poor service. I think it is terrible that a company is able to have such poor business practices and no service or at least non that I have seen and be able to continue without being punished.
